Ryan & Lauren’s Rehearsal Dinner ~ The Edgewood Beach House ~ June 28, 2013

We can’t wait to share all the beautiful photos from Lauren and Ryan’s gorgeous wedding last month. In the meantime, here’s a little glimpse into their rehearsal dinner on June 28th, 2013….

Ryan and Lauren’s wedding weekend kicked off with a super fun, casual, mexican-inspired rehearsal dinner at the Edgewood Beach House. The day started off sunny and hot. And then, it got even hotter…

Just as I was climbing the ladder to hang the last detail of our setup, an adorable picado banner hand-picked by the bride, I looked up to the sky to see an enormous, black thundercloud looming above. I was shocked and surprised to see it sneaking up on us from the East. Rarely do thunderstorms enter the Tahoe Basin from the East and this one was completely off the weatherman’s radar!

The first drops began to fall and, within seconds, we were in a complete and total downpour! Everyone ran to grab linens and decorative items off the tables and then we all waited, wondering how long this little interruption was going to last. Fortunately, as most thunderstorms do, it passed quickly and we were able to salvage the linens and decor from the unexpected deluge.

Reverend David Beronio led the rehearsal with the bridal party, while our team hurried to re-set everything before guests arrived. Even Patricia Mera-Silva of Ressull Salvi Photography pitched in to help us wipe chairs and hang the cute picado banner, while her husband Russell snapped some spectacular shots of the location (showcased below).

As guests arrived, we were just putting the finishing touches on the margarita bar and the sun was shining again. JT Chevallier helped set the tone with beautiful melodies from his acoustic guitar and accompanying vocals. Edgewood Tahoe provided a Mexican buffet for dinner and the bride’s sister-in-law and friends brought home-made Mexican Wedding Cookies. The colorful linens and rustic lanterns were provided by Thran’s Flowers.

Just before sunset, the groom appeared with his guitar and played a few tunes for the guests, including a song he penned especially for his bride. There wasn’t a dry eye on the property and this was only the beginning of a very heartfelt celebration….
