It has been a busy summer, but things are winding down and I finally have some time to show off some of what we’ve been up to over the last few months!
Here are a few gorgeous images from Sam and Kate’s Tahoe City wedding this past July, courtesy of Chloe Jackman Photography.
Both originally from the East Coast, Sam and Kate met while attending business school on the West Coast and now reside in San Francisco. Tahoe has become a favorite getaway spot for this adventurous, outdoorsy twosome and so it was an obvious choice for the location of their wedding. From the get-go, it was important to them that their friends and family traveling from the East have an extended weekend to enjoy all that Tahoe has to offer. So they set the date on a Friday and asked their guests to stay and celebrate with them all weekend long. A clever idea, I think! They also knew that they wanted to serve a delicious menu that incorporated favorites of theirs from both coasts. Think lobster rolls and clam chowder, an assortment of unique salads, and carnitas and chicken tacos…. Yum! D’LIsh Catering created a custom menu for the couple and delivered a truly scrumptious feast for all the guests to enjoy.
When it came to decor, Kate wanted to keep it clean, fresh, and simple. Thran’s Flowers provided the fresh green garlands and wildflower bouquets, as well as tons of candles in varying heights for the long farm tables. Kate hand made the unique concrete votives and table numbers which added a stark, modern element to the design… definitely very cool and different for Tahoe.
The Cloud Nine team moved quickly to transform the ceremony site into the dining and reception space while guests enjoyed hand passed appetizers and signature cocktails on the front lawn.
Pre-ceremony music and ceremony music (as well as the couple’s first dance to “Wagon Wheel”) was provided by my favorite acoustic duo, Little Town. For dinner and the reception, guests were entertained by the amazing KJ All Stars. I had seen this band at a friend’s wedding several years ago and knew right away that they would be a great fit for this event. They definitely did not disappoint! The party got going right after dinner. So fast, in fact, that we found ourselves scrambling to move tables out of the way to make space for all 120 guests to dance! The celebration lasted well into the evening, (thanks to plenty of Fireball and 5 Hour Energy) and a great time was had by all!
Congratulations Sam & Kate! You guys really are great!!
