Summer Events in Lake Tahoe: Our Favorite Events for June

Summer is officially underway here in Lake Tahoe… The boats are in the water, the bicycles are out, and the weather has been incredible! Along with the beautiful summer weather comes a wide array of activites and events for all ages. Here are just a few of our favorite upcoming events for June in Lake Tahoe.

renfaireJune 7-9 Valhalla Renaissance Faire: If you’ve never been to a Ren Faire before, you should definitely check this out. It’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced and the beautiful, rustic setting at Camp Richardson couldn’t be more appropriate. The Faire features four stages of continuous entertainment, action packed shows, music, dancing, jesters, 900 costumed actors, Shakesperian vignettes, expertly staged battles, storytelling for children and adults, archery tournaments and live jousting (on horseback!). Shop over 100 merchants selling a variety of arts and crafts, unique jewelry, woodcrafts, artwork, ceramic, clothing, historic weapons and leather goods.  The first weekend of the Faire has already come and gone, but you can still check out this unique attraction this weekend. Don’t forget to stop into Camp Richardson’s old-fashioned Ice Cream Parlor for a cool treat after the Faire. For more information visit www.valhallafaire.com

June 16-September 1 (Sundays only) Valhalla’s Music on the Lawn Series: Come check out this series of free concerts out on the Grand Lawn behind the Valhalla Grand Hall. The concerts are Sundays from noon to 2:00pm and feature some unique and talented local bands. Come have a picnic by the lake and listen to some great music. liveatlakeviewJune 20 Season Opening of Live at Lakeview Summer Music Series: This event series will be held at Lakeview Commons (El Dorado Beach) from 4:30-9:00 pm every Thursday, starting June 20 through August 29th. (Except Thursday, July 4th) and will feature a beer garden, free bike valet, local vendors, and will remain free for the public to attend. Entertainment will range from local to nationally recognized musicians featuring a different genre of music each week including Jazz, Rock & Roll, Reggae, Latin, Bluegrass, and more. This a great place to meet up with friends, enjoy a cold drink, or just take in the sunset while listening to some great tunes. For more information visit www.lakeviewcommonslive.com

June 21 Ski Run Farmer’s Market Season Kick-Off: The Ski Run Farmer’s Market is a real happening for locals and visitors alike. Come on down to Ski Run Blvd. every Friday afternoon (through 9/6) at 3pm and enjoy free live music, taste some delicious local food, and browse some unique arts and crafts. harveysoutdoorJune 22 Harvey’s Outdoor Concert Series Opening with Steve Miller Band: Catch the season opener, the Steve Miller Band, at the coolest venue in Tahoe, Harvey’s Outdoor Arena. Visit our previous blog post for more information.

June 22 Tahoe City Wine Walk:  If you love great wine, tasty food, and spectacular views of the Sierra and Lake Tahoe, the Tahoe City Wine Walk is a great way to enjoy all three.
